How we write our guides
The guides on famiyo.app are written by the Famiyo Editorial Team, the people who build Famiyo, a family app for chores, points, rewards and a shared calendar. We write for parents who need a clear answer to a specific question, and we keep it practical.
What every guide includes
- A short answer at the top that you can use on its own.
- Concrete examples: tasks by age, point values, sample schedules or a script for what to say.
- A free printable when the topic is a chart, checklist or schedule.
- A short section on how to do the same thing in Famiyo. We make the app, so we say so.
How we keep the numbers consistent
Numbers that appear in many guides, such as chores by age, points per chore, allowance ranges, sleep hours and screen time, come from one shared reference. Sleep and screen time follow published guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Allowance amounts and point values are rules of thumb, and we describe them that way.
Health and development topics
Guides about behavior, ADHD, autism and sleep share everyday strategies that many families use. They are not medical advice and do not replace your child's pediatrician, therapist or teacher. If you are worried about your child's health or development, please talk to a professional.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows when it was published or last updated. If you spot a mistake, email hello@famiyo.app with the page address and we will fix it.
Comparisons with other apps
Our app rankings follow separate rules, described in how we compare family apps.
